So many stories stay unspoken. Stories that we could not speak, that stretch beyond the realm of words. Stories we live that our minds cannot yet grasp. Stories that die untold when no one is available to hear. Stories that vanish unrecorded, but leave their traces: the corner of a mouth, the angle of an eye. Our faces speak a language that words don’t reach. We live, we love, we lose, we leave and are left. We lie awake at night in worry, or in wonder. The calling voice is silent, the tears long since washed away. So much we forget, so much we live and never know. Our faces carry traces of stories that we lived but
don’t recall or never knew. Traces that a mirror mostly fails to show
us, but that move us when we see them in another face. Unspoken stories
that awaken when we find their traces in another’s face, when they find
us.
